I am trying to catch up on my blog post…I've fallen very behind and have not had to opportunity to post all my session. Baby Samuel was born in July. He was 10 days old when I photographed him. He was also 10lbs when he was born. The big brother was rather shy about getting his picture taken, but with the promise of ice cream, I managed to capture on shot of them together.

Penny is One
Little Miss Penny was not so found of me during the session. It took many tears, pouty lips, and hugs to get through this session. No hard feelings though, she was adorable…and it was her first birthday. I enjoyed photographing her and once the cake was placed in front of her, all tears were gone…It was pure bliss for her! Enjoy these images.
Happy 1st Birthday, Penny!

Almost a big brother!!!
A few months ago, I photographed a family that I had such delight doing their session. It was a fun session…were I remembered how to be a kid again. I danced, sang, jumped, twirled, and raced around in circles to capture smiles! In the end of the session though, I think I finally won the little man's heart and I got a few good smiles of him. Becoming a big brother is hard job, but he helped me out photographing is adorable mom and dad. Enjoy these!!!
P.S. He is a big brother now to a beautiful baby girl…that I can't wait to share those portraits with you!!!!

Right before a big MOVE
I am playing catch up with my blog today. A few months ago, I photographed a family right before they were moving. They actually moved later that day!!! ACK! Personally, I was slightly ever so jealous about all the new changes and adventures that were laying ahead of them. I'm that type of girl! On the flip side, I can only image the all the fears and worries they must have experienced that day. We did the shoot that morning just because we were running out of time and we have been planning to do this over a few months with each time some sort of schedule conflicts. And we did it! Enjoy the following session:

Family
This family was such a joy to photograph. I had a good time to photographing Lindsay and her family. I work with Lindsay, and it was great to get to know her more and to capture the little moment of her little munchkin. The baby was just a delight, her smiles and dimples in the checks were enough to melt a heart away. Babies grow up so quickly and it was truly an honor to capture the baby at these precious moment.

Family "A" Children Session
I had the great pleasure of photographing these cuties. I am bias because they are my nieces and nephew. We went to Tyler Arboretum in Chestnut Hill. I have never been there before but it was heavenly. The flowers were blooming, the grass well manicured and just enough clouds to make it awesome. The weather was slightly chilly however, we managed to still enjoy the day. Enjoy this preview!

2 year old spring photo session
I had a blast photographing this family again. This is the third time I photographed this little pumpkin. She's growing up so quickly!!! I always enjoy the time I spend with this family. The little girl is full of expressions and her mommy and I share all of our experiences as being nurses. This session was so much fun to do. It was slightly scary though because I did see a snake and I hate those things. So for the majority of the session I was slightly freaking out so that I wouldn't see another one.
And here is her growing up so quickly: December 2012, May 2013, and May 2014

What to wear for a family session ???
I get lots of questions about how the family should dress for the a photo session, so I figured I'd write out my opinion here.
1. The most important rule I can say is "BE YOURSELF" don't dress your family or yourself into something that doesn't match your personality. If you are the more artsy and eclectic style family, don't dress in suite and tie. Now is also not the time to see if you daughter will finally wear the cute headband that she cries hysterically over every time you attempt to put it on her. Dress in something that is comfortable for you. This is also not the time to test if a certain styles looks good on you like wearing skinny jeans for the first time and your worried that you look bad. Its also not a good idea to start wearing 5 inch heels if that you've never done before.
2. With the above stated…it doesn't mean you should wear your everyday baggy jeans or yoga pants either…Its also not the time to just throw on a t-shirt for hubster with paint stains on the side…nor does it mean that a sweatshirt will look good either.
3. For the ladies: Wear some sort of make-up that is natural to you. Don't over do it with the heavy eye make-up and try to avoid shiny make-up like eye shadows and powders.
4. If you have a zit or any other facial blemish don't over do it with make-up either, sometimes its much more easier to photoshop it out then to try to blend skin tones.
5. Don't show up wearing the same clothes: White tops with blue jeans… All black, white tops with khakis. Coordinate your colors.

6. Along with coordinating your colors, coordinate your styles. Don't show with 5 inch silhouettes heels with a dressy outfit if the rest of the family is wearing more casual clothes.
7. Avoid crazy and many patterns on family members… One pattern on one person in the family would look awesome.

Pick a color, and use different shades for everyone in at least one article of clothes for instance yellow. Dad can have a dark grey button down shirt, mom can have a mustered yellow cardigan under a darker color, daughter can have a brighter yellow skirt with a grey top, and the son can have a yellow and grey striped shirt.
Pick a style and stick with it. Decide are you going to go casual for a photo shoot at the lake, dressy for a photoshoot in the city.
7. Wear what is comfortable for you. Don't wear clothes that you have to suck in your belly, constantly tug on the sweater of pull up the straps. Also wear comfortable shoes for walking.
8.. I love props….If you have ideas for props or want to include something special with your photo shoot. Give me a shout earlier in advance so I can plan accordingly. Quilts, blankets, chairs, letters, signs, suitcases are all good things to use.

And finally:
Bring your personality.
Smile, dance, sing, jump, roll down the hill…what ever makes your family happy is what I want to capture…Its those moments when I can capture the pure delight of your little one laughing while you make funny faces…The love that captured as you hold you baby in your hands…The emotions of the child closing your eyes with their tiny hands. Your true personality is what will make your pictures perfect.
Here is a little info graphic that covers all the basics!

Happy Easter
Our poor little guy was sick all weekend, and since I'm missing church due to work next week, hubby volunteered to stay home with him while we went to the Easter worship service. It was such a beautiful day, unfortunately we weren't able to enjoy much of it since my son still was feeling rather lousy. My daughter on the other hand, threw a little fit about wearing Easter best before going to church, however, after several compliments she wanted to do a photo shoot. It provided a rather hard challenge since this is now 1pm and the sun was straight overhead with absolutely no cloud in the sky. This is the best as we could get in the 3 minutes that my son allowed me to be outside. Enjoy. Happy Easter to everyone. Jesus is Risen!!! Such a beautiful and amazing holiday!
