Need to step up my game

I try not to get competitive…I really don't, but when my husband snapped this photo of me, I got a little jealous. I offered him to be my second shooter….he said he'll babysit the kids….

Here is a selfie of me… I was trying to capture my true self with my camera for a new business card I am currently working on. I think this one really captured the character.

And last by  not least, I am madly in love with this capture of my husband and son. My poor little guy was exhausted from a long day!!!

Wedding invitations

I recently went back through my blog and found a draft I never posted….Oops!!! Anyway, I did theses awesome wedding invitations for a friend a while a go, and I still hear lots of likes about these. The most awesome part is that We were able to write in Russian text. Here is what we came up with for the Russian invitations. The English version I think came out even better then these, but I don't have those pictures. The bow was an addition that the bride added. If you need invitations or announcement let me know!!!

Walking on Ice

Recently our area has been hit with sever low temps and lots and lots of snow. I'm definitely not a fan of snow or very cold weathers. Right before we got hit with almost 20 inches of snow, we had a little lul in the sever freezing temperatures that we ventured out to go to our lake by our house. The lake froze over. It was fun (and a bit scary) to be walking on the ice. The kids had a blast to have walked to the middle of the lake. Some people were even ice fishing around where we were standing and a few teenagers tried to play hockey. Scenes from my childhood replayed in my head as I walked towards the center. It was a little terrifying since parts of the ice showed a few cracks however, my husband reassured me that it was frozen stiff. We were able to enjoy the hour of peace and quite and warmth before the next couple of snow storm hit us again. Now to continue to dig out of our driveway. Enjoy!!

Still a nurse

I'm considered an essential personal at my work place. That means I still have to head into work wether or not I like. It means my one hour commute might take me 3 hours, but I have to plan in advance, I still have to make an attempt to get in. Its one of those jobs that's really rewarding,  but on snow days where I would love to have a snow day and stay home cuddled reading a book by my fireplace, I still have to get my warm nose out there and head in...This is how I feel, when I have to work in the midst of snow storms!

Winter Blues

Winter is not my thing...Its cold, bone chilling, freezing, and just blah!!! I am not a fan of winter, and I dread it. Don't get me wrong the first snowflakes are always the most mesmerizing nostalgic feelings ever. Christmas is awesome and one of the most anticipated times of the year, and the first snow storm of the year is always pretty awesome if I am at home and able to take a late night walk out with my husband. However, those are only a few things that really make me want to be so cold...on a regular day, you will see me bundled up in layers...when I say layers, I mean like two of everything including socks and pants....I looked like a stuffed eskimo. So even in these cold COLD days, I ever so hard try to make the best of it and enjoy it with my family. Here are a few of us enjoying the best we can the Jack Frost weather!

I Heart Faces Photo Challenge:

I had a really hard time in choosing the right picture to submit. Its so hard to choose since most of the subjects are beyond adorable, gorgeous, or just plain stinking cute! I kept going back and forth and decided to stop at this one. I really the enjoy the emotions and the expression on mom's face. I believe the best face always carries true emotions, happiness, and joy. The two faces in theses images are true emotions between a mother and son.

Winter Scene

I am not a big fan of winter, cold, and the freezing bone chilling winds. I prefer the shorts, the sun, the flip-flops and the heat! Once in a while though, its nice to see everything covered in a layer of snow, covering the black, grey, and dreary scenes, with a beautiful sparkly snow...then for just a few minutes I forget about the sun and the warm weather and enjoy the God's blessing of snow, winter, and cold.

Michael and Xi

I had the amazing privilege to photograph and amazing couple. It was a small intimate wedding in the back yard of the groom's childhood home. The ceremony took place on the deck of the house, and the bride walked down the driveway. Everything was elegant and everyone enjoyed the laid back atmosphere and were able to enjoy the intimate event in a very comfortable atmosphere.

Name behind my logo

Many people ask me about the name I use in photography. Is it the same person? Who is Annie Nyle? Is there a person by that name? Why did you choose this name? and so forth.... So here is a quick explanation about this name. Annie Nyle is me...It is a name I chose for my AOL account when I was in middle school and it kind of stuck. It is not a real person, nor is there a person by that name. I loved the name Annie and I thought Nyle was kind of cool. So in the end result Annie Nyle was formed. As for using it as my business name...Well, it took some time for me to finally decide to use this name. I was going under L.Z. Photography, but that website was taken, so then I decided to do L.Z. Foto, but after using it for a while, people never got the "F" in Foto and would spell it wrong. I tried to then go by my name, but is a mouth full of the alphabet and no one could spell it. Then I figured why not go by online name...and truth be told, many people agreed after I told them that Annie Nyle is a best choice. Its still a process of getting used to the name, but at least I am happy with the name. So here is my updated logo on some pictures. What do you think?

Day at the Shores

Last Saturday was my last day before I started working as a night shift nurse. Feeling overwhelmed and full of anxiety, my husband, decided it would be good for everyone to spend a day together at the shores. It was a really beautiful afternoon. We don't like to go there too early as we are not much of beach goers or people that lay out. We try and avoid the sun. Anyway, the weather was nice, it was not hot and had just enough of cool in the wind to make it very nice. Our kids enjoyed playing in the sand and flying kites. We were able to eat a picnic style dinner on the beach and then at the end of the day sit on board walk and sip some hot tea. By the time the evening had rolled around it was just enough chilly to want to put on an extra layer of clothes. The day ended up being relaxing and just what I needed to calm my nerves. Watching the vast ocean in front of us, just showed that God has everything in control. He tells the waves to move and they move. You stand there at the edge of the ocean and you feel small, my fear and anxiety was so small compared to such a vast ocean in front of me. With each crashing wave, the overwhelming fear lessened. Enjoy the following pictures from our Saturday.

Catching up

A lot has happened in the last few weeks, months, and even years. I feel like I am very behind on my own personal pictures. I have years and years and years of work that are stored on my hard drives, computers, laptops, cards, and disks. I made an attempt to actually print some of the pictures. My walls are bear from not having any pictures printed. I am, however, making an attempt, to improve my this flaw... In the mean time, I am going to post a few pictures from our weekend.

Our weekend was pretty nice. On Saturday we went to Wyebrook farm and we got a good picture of  an all organic farming style. The view was breathtaking. It almost felt like we were in a countryside of Italy. The weather was perfect with a slight breeze, the clouds were just perfect white and fluffy.  The kids had a blast swinging on a tire swing for the first time. Even, I made an attempt at it...and I really enjoyed it, except for the time I got really dizzy and couldn't stop. The day ended with us going to our local township block party. The funnel cake is a must, and is very delicious dessert to have. We top off the night by watching the fireworks. By the time it was night fall, the air got a little crisp, and it was perfect to cuddle up as close as we could to each other to see the sparkles and hear the pops. All in all if a perfect day had a description, I would say it was almost perfect. Enjoy the following pictures from our day!

Alina statement about being on the tire swing for the first time "It feels like I'm flying!"

Andrew just wanted to be pushed faster and higher!

...and yes, I'm going to be thirty this year....and yes, I still love to be silly sometimes..

Not the best picture of us...but probably the only one...its hard to do a posed shot with family when the camera is on a timer and you didn't take the tripod. :)

And of course the fireworks
